Decisions

You can use this setting to control the way decisions are applied in the application.

  1. Select Settings > Decisions.
  2. To enable decisions in the application, select the applicable decision types:
    • Manufacturing decisions
    • Forecast decisions
    • Purchase decisions
    Note: You must be linked to IPW roles, IPWPLANNER or IPWADMIN in MNS410 to enable decision. Alternatively, a PIN code is required when enabling decisions if IPW roles are not used.
  3. Specify this information:
    Manufacturing decisions
    Select the check box to take decision on manufacturing orders. Requires user to have role as IPW Planner or user to have specified a Decision PIN Code under Tools.
    Base manufact decisions on prod start
    Supply decisions are taken in the production start column. Aging and other lead time elements can create offset from production start to supply time.
    Note:  It is a prerequisite that Include production start is selected on Data retrieval 2.
    Purchase decisions
    Select the check box to take decision on purchase orders. You can take decisions on planned purchase orders. You can also take decisions on released purchase order lines if the status is LE 15 and there is only one PO-line in a supply cell. You must have an IPW Planner role or a specified Decision PIN Code under Tools.
    Base purchase decisions on release date
    Supply decisions are taken in the release date column. Purchase lead time and other lead time elements can create offset from release date to supply time.
    Note: It is a prerequisite that Include release date is selected on Data retrieval 1.
    Forecast decisions
    Select the check box to take decision on forecast. You must have the IPW Planner or User role to specify a Decision PIN Code under Tools.
    Note: Forecast buckets (FCS350) must correspond to the IPW buckets. Otherwise, if the forecast has five buckets per week (one bucket is covering from Friday to Sunday) and IPW has seven buckets per week, the manual forecast decision in IPW on either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday bucket ends up in the forecast bucket covering from Friday to Sunday then return to IPW in the Friday bucket.
    Supply rounding
    Select a rounding option from the list.
    Include released MO in supplies
    Select the check box to include the released MO in supplies. This will enable the Manufacturing decisions to be taken from the released MOs.
    MO end bucket
    Select a value from the list. This setting is used to specify the length of the horizon inside which MO proposals are automatically released as MOs.
    Note: This is only applicable if the parameter Include released MO in supplies is selected.
    Pl ord creation meth
    Select Greedy or Evenly. This setting is used to control the way order proposals are created.
    Ignore min/max order quantity
    Update planned MO with option to ignore Order qty less than minimum qty or greater than max quantity.
    Ignore order multiple
    Update planned MO with option to ignore Order qty not dividable by order multiple.
    Set schedule number
    Select the check box to automatically set the schedule number when releasing orders. Select one, two, or three date elements from the three drop-down boxes.
    Schedule number based on
    Select to base schedule number on either Finish date or Production start date.
    Note: If Production start is selected, then it is a prerequisite that Include production start is selected on Data retrieval 2.
    Action after commit
    Update grid after the decision is committed to M3. Select an option from the list.
  4. Click OK.
