Basic Setup

  1. Select Settings > Basic Setup.
  2. Specify this information:
    Max number of items
Specify the max number of items hard coded in IPW. The maximum is 1000. Updating IPW with warehouse group containing many warehouses and APS policy containing all item numbers in M3, would retrieve almost all data in M3 and limit database access for other users. The max number of items avoid this issue. If max is reached, then adjust APS policy and warehouse group to limit number of items retrieved by IPW.
    Forecast type
Specify the MDS version for the forecast type that is going to be used in the application.
    Manual forecast type
Specify the MDS version for storing manual forecast adjustments performed from within the application.
Note: The MDS version for manual forecast type can either have identical to or different from the MDS version for forecast type.

If manual forecast type is equal to forecast type, then original forecast is overwritten. With such a configuration, you cannot track the changes to the forecast performed from within the application.

You can understand the effect of last minute forecast changes and how these changes affects your forecast accuracy by defining an MDS-version for Manual forecast that is different from the original forecast.

    Structure type
Specify a value for the structure type that is going to be used when creating manufacturing orders.
    Time zone
Specify the IPW display time zone. The API transactions transfer data in the local warehouse time zone, which IPW then converts to the IPW display time zone. To take decisions, you must have an identical IPW display time zone to the warehouse time zone where the decision is taken.
    1. If Time zone is not selected, IPW uses the user time zone defined in MNS150 as the IPW display time zone. The API transactions are not converted from warehouse time to a display time zone.
    2. If Time zone is selected and the selected time zone exists, the IPW display time is selected as the time zone. The API transactions are converted from warehouse time to a display time zone.
    3. If Time zone is selected and the selected time zone does not exist, the IPW display time zone is the user time zone defined in MNS150. The API transactions are converted from warehouse time to a display time zone.
To be able to make changes to a given item, you must have an identical item warehouse time zone to the display time zone.
Note: On Controls, the Date and time is also converted to the IPW display time zone.
    Write to log file
Select this check box to enable writing on the log file. You can export the log file to a text file and use it as an attachment when reporting an incident.
Note: You can use Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C to copy everything to Notepad for further analysis.
    Excel list separator
Select a list separator to use when exporting a report to Excel.
    Excel decimal separator
Select a decimal separator to use when exporting a report to Excel.
    • Default, this uses the same decimal separator used in the IPW grid, which is based on user settings in MNS150.
    • Period
    • Comma
Note: The Excel decimal separator must not have the same value as the Excel list separator. If identical, IPW will display a warning message when exporting to Excel.
    Thousands sepr
Select a thousand separator to be used for values from 1000 and above in grid.
Note: Thousand separator is ignored if decimal separator has the same value.
    Always retrieve data
Select this option if you want to perform local filtering of retrieved items without triggering a new update of M3 data.
If Always retrieve data is not selected, then data is not retrieved if only parameters in these tabs have been changed:
    • Display
    • Coloring
    • Item Filter
    • Item Bucket Filter
    • Miscellaneous
  3. Click OK.
