Common report features

When working with reports, you can use common features.

Exporting to Microsoft Excel

Exporting to Excel can be done directly from the selected report.

  • To export report-data from the report, select Export from the grid settings menu (), then open or save the file locally.

Alternatively, if a report holds an extensive amount of data, it is recommended to use the Report Exports icon on the Trace- or Group panel.

  • To export report-data select an option from Report Exports to perform the export without opening the report.

The export format can be specified as XLS or CSV in the System Administration > Application Settings panel. The data to be included in the export can be specified in the System Administration > Panel Settings panel.

Sorting report content on a column

To sort content on a column, click a column heading in the report.

Filtering report content

To use filtering options, select Show Filter Row from the grid settings menu ().

For a customized overview of large reports, you can filter the report by content in one or several columns.

Finalized reports - running a report or export in the background

The Finalized Reports functionality is available for most reports or exports related to a single trace object or group of trace objects. When running a report/export, GLT estimates the amount of data being processed. If the processing time exceeds a set limit, the system displays a message to the user and completes the report/export in the background.

The report/export and related details are then added to Reports > Finalized Reports in the Application menu pane. The Finalized Reports panel lists information about the report/export that was processed and indicates if the job is still active or completed.

These are the options you have:
  • To view completed reports or exports, click the arrow icon.
  • To go back to the Trace panel, click the Step ID link.
  • To go back to the Group panel, click the Group name link.
  • To delete reports or exports from the list, select one or more rows, and click the Delete button.
Note: Reports and exports are automatically deleted after 30 days.

This feature is controlled by Application Setting .M3REPORT:USE_BACKGROUND_REPORT.

Application Setting .M3REPORT:BACKGROUND_REPORT_TIMEOUT controls the processing time limit. Default value is set to 60 seconds. This can be changed manually by the M3 Graphical Lot Tracker administrator. If report is calculated to be processed longer than 60 seconds, the report will be processed in the background. After being processed, the report will be accessible in the Finalized Reports pane.
