Setting up an API Extension adding data fields to a Trace panel standard tab

  1. Select System Administration > Panel Settings.
  2. Click the + icon to expand the Trace Object Description list.
  3. Click the pencil icon to edit a Trace Object Description. For example, Blended Tabs.
  4. Click Add new configuration. The Add new configuration window is displayed.
  5. Select API Extension in Type for an API Extension adding fields in the Blended Lots section.
  6. Click Next to continue.
  7. Optionally, click Cancel to close the dialog box.
    Note: When you click Next, the API Interface Configuration details panel is displayed.

    Step field contains the feature object name of the Panel Settings tab, and it is not editable.

    Use as input field contains the Step type and the feature object name of the Panel Settings tab, and it is not editable.

  8. Specify this information:
    API program
    Specify the name of the API program, for example: MMS235MI-Lot Master interface.
    Transaction
    Specify the name of the transaction, for example: GetItemLot-Display Item Lot.
    Note: The available transactions are limited to Get-transactions

    If more than one record is returned by the API, the API Extension call will only use the first record.

    Name
    Specify the name of the API Extension.
  9. On the API Input Configuration tab, specify the name of the GLT field.
  10. On the API Output Configuration tab, select the columns to be included on the standard tab.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Optionally, rearrange API Extension fields.
  13. Click Save.

    The selected fields on the API Output Configuration tab are available as data columns on the standard tab.

    Note: All columns included in the standard tab can be rearranged in the Panel Settings.

    New API Extensions can be edited in Panel Settings.

    The API Extension name is added to the System Administration > Application Localization list for the user to translate to the other languages.

    When you select the Panel Settings > Reset to Default, you can exclude API Extension from being deleted.
