Setting up user group settings – security through roles (SES400)
-
In M3 Business Engine,
‘Function. Open’ (MNS110), create a function for
each required M3 Graphical Lot Tracker user role,
for example the GLTADMIN role.
In panel E, connect the function to component group GLT and function category MSH-Mashup.
In panel F, set the Function description field, for example to GLT Administrator.
Note: Any function category can be used, but the MSH function category requires minimum information. The values in the Component group and Function cat fields that are connected to the function in (MNS110) must be identical to those of the corresponding M3 Graphical Lot Tracker settings. See Defining the settings in M3 Graphical Lot Tracker.
- In M3 Business Engine, ‘Roles. Open’ (MNS405), create a role for each required M3 Graphical Lot Tracker user role, for example the GLTADMIN role, preferably using the same value that was used for the functions.
- In M3 Business Engine, ‘Function. Connect Authorization by Role’ (SES400), create a connection between the corresponding function and the role at the company level. Set the status to Active.
- In M3 Business Engine, ‘Roles per User. Connect’ (MNS410), create a connection between the user and the role. At least one user with the GLTADMIN role must exist in M3 Business Engine, otherwise the System Administration panel in M3 Graphical Lot Tracker is not accessible.
