Adding a customized link to appear on the customized tab

The purpose of a customized tab API link is to supply a more extensive level of trace details. The link is added to a customized tab and set to open a list of additional trace details.

Note: Customized links on standard tabs are created in the Panel Settings panel using Bookmark type = API program. Standard tabs can have customized links with Bookmark type Search, M3 Bookmark, and API program. See Adding and configuring customized links.
  1. Open a customized tab in the System Administration > API Interface Configuration.
  2. Click Add link field button in the upper right corner.
Note:  The Step field contains the Step type of customized tab.
  3. Specify the M3 API on the API program field.
  4. Specify the M3 Transaction in the Transaction field.
  5. Specify the link name in the Name field.
Note: Use tab as input field contains the Tab Name of the customized tab.
  6. Specify Field column and GLT Field column on the API Input Configuration tab.
  7. Select the required trace details in the Selected column on the API Output Configuration tab. Reorder columns if necessary.
  8. Click the Save icon to create the API link.
Results:
  1. When a new customized tab link is created and saved, the link is displayed on the related Trace Panel tab. The added trace details list is defaulted to show a maximum of 100 records. The GLT administrator can change the value between 1-9999 records using the .CONFIG:MI_TAB_RECORDS application setting.
  2. When a new customized tab link is created and saved, Link name and Transaction are displayed below the customized tab in the API Interface Configuration panel.
  3. When a new customized tab link is added to the API Interface Configuration panel, a new language key is added to the Application Localization panel. The generated key is named <Step>_<Link_Name> and the key value is set to <Link_Name>. By modifying the text in the key Value column, the customized tab link display text can be configured. The key value is displayed as the customized tab header in the Trace Panel. See Application Localization panel.
