Setting up a bookmark to open an M3 program

  1. Select System Administration > Panel Settings .
  2. Click the Plus icon in the Edit column to expand the list of a feature object that allows customized links
  3. Edit the required record with the Edit icon.
  4. Click the Add link field.
  5. Select the field from the menu from which the customized link is accessed, for example: Lot number.
    Note: To create a user defined field, select the Field option, Enter a value… ,type a label name in the Field heading field and customized link name in the Value field.
  6. Click Next to continue or Cancel to close the dialog box.
  7. Specify the 'M3 Bookmark' in the Bookmark type for a customized link opening an M3 Program.
  8. Click the Next button to continue, Back to go back to the previous option, or Cancel to close the dialog box.
  9. Specify Program name and Table name.
    If either the Program name or Table name is left blank, the system inserts the correct Program/Table name in the blank field after clicking Next.
  10. Click Next to continue, Back to go back to the previous option, or Cancel to close the dialog box.
  11. Select a GLT field from the menu for each of the required search parameters.
    Note: Based on the link's requirements, a specific value can be input in the GLT field using the selection, Enter a value… and typing the value in the Value column. Alternately, the Value column can be left blank to send a ‘blank’ value.
  12. Once all the chosen parameters are selected, specify a Panel value corresponding to the specified M3 Business Engine.
  13. Click Finish to create the customized link, Back to go back to the previous option, or Cancel to close the dialog box.
  14. Once the process is complete, the custom link is available for the user.
    Note: New links can be rearranged in Panel Settings.
    Note: The link name is added to the System Administration > Application Localization list for the user to translate to the other languages.
    Note: If a customized link name is not specified, the newly added link keeps the same name as the original field. You can find and disable the original field in Panel Settings.
    Note: When you select the Panel Settings > Reset to Default, you can exclude customized links from being deleted.
