Application Administration

Description

A set of new functions has been introduced to simplify setup and administration of M3 Graphical Lot Tracker. All functions related to a specific trace line can be easily accessed from the System Administration section within the web user interface, whereas more generic functions that span multiple trace lines can be accessed from the Administrators Toolbox installed on the application server.

Change database connection

In previous versions of M3 Graphical Lot Tracker, database connection information was stored in plain text in a configuration file and was neither secure nor easy to maintain. As from version 10.0.1.0, the database connection information is securely stored in an encrypted format, and can be easily maintained from the Administrators Toolbox.

Shared configuration folders

For installations using multiple trace lines, there is now a possibility to share the same generic configuration across trace lines.

Data transfer scheduling

The job schedule for transferring data from M3 Business Engine to M3 Graphical Lot Tracker can now be maintained directly from the web user interface, or from the Administrators Toolbox. This task previously required direct access to the database server.

Error reporting and log files

In previous versions of Graphical Lot Tracker, log files were scattered between several text files and database tables. From version 10.0.1.0, all issues and informational messages are logged by trace line in the database (SSystemLog table), and accessible for review in both Administrators Toolbox and the web user interface.

Note:  In some instance to support debug logging and times when the database can not be accessed, text files will continue to be utilized.
