XML Gateway documentation

Because support for the XML Gateway is provided by a variety of components, documentation for it is also distributed. For more information, please see the following sources:

• Basic gateway functionality as supported by the Infor e-Commerce Development Studio and the e-Commerce Extension for MEC plug-in are given in this document.

• The XML document format native to all current Infor e-Commerce applications is called iXML 2.0.

• Issues related to XML Gateway implementation details specific to each different Infor e-Commerce application (such as Infor e-Commerce and Infor M3 e-Procurement) are given in the design and administration documents for those applications.

• The e-Commerce Extension for MEC plug-in is included with Infor e-Commerce Development Studio. Details about how to install it are given in the Infor e-Commerce Development Studio Installation Guide.

Recommendations

We recommend that the remote system is designed to generate a unique request ID for each request and then use this to identify each response, so that it can be compared to the original requests.

We recommend that you use iXML 2.0 requests and make/enable new methods on business objects as appropriate.
