To assign a function to an attribute

  1. Go to Data Sources.
  2. Right-click on the data source and select Mappings.
  3. Double-click on a business object mapping.

The Attributes to Fields window appears.

  4. Select a mapping.
  5. Click Function.

The Function for Mapped Input Attribute window opens.

  6. Set the following:
    Attribute

This is the name of the attribute, as defined for the business object. You cannot add or rename attributes here; you must do that on the Business Objects tab (see Working with business objects).

    Primary Key

If set, then the selected attribute is the primary key for its set or subset. If not set, then it is a standard attribute. You cannot change key attribute assignments here; you must do that on the Business Objects tab (see Working with business objects).

    Function

This enables you to add a simple SQL function for manipulating the value returned for the attribute.

  7. Click OK.
