To assign a function to an attribute
- Go to Data Sources.
- Right-click on the data source and select Mappings.

Double-click on a business object mapping.
The Attributes to Fields window appears.
- Select a mapping.

Click Function.
The Function for Mapped Input Attribute window opens.

Set the following:
- Attribute

This is the name of the attribute, as defined for the business object. You cannot add or rename attributes here; you must do that on the Business Objects tab (see Working with business objects).
- Primary Key

If set, then the selected attribute is the primary key for its set or subset. If not set, then it is a standard attribute. You cannot change key attribute assignments here; you must do that on the Business Objects tab (see Working with business objects).
- Function

This enables you to add a simple SQL function for manipulating the value returned for the attribute.
- Click OK.
