SSL

The SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol is typically used for those parts of your web application that require a high degree of security. A couple of notes:

• If you are setting up the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol on the IIS (web server), you do not need to change any part of the setup in WebSphere Application Server.

• Communication between the IIS and WebSphere is not encrypted. For this reason you do not need to change the WAS plug-in for IIS.
