Infor e-Commerce presentations

A complete Infor e-Commerce solution actually includes two separate presentations, each of which is specialized for a different purpose:

• Customer Center – The presentation seen and used by customers of the merchant who is running Infor e-Commerce. The Customer Center includes an online catalog, ordering, feedback, and payment facilities. The Customer Center can be configured as a B2B profile, B2C profile, or both depending on the need.

• Business Center – The presentation used by employees of the merchant to process incoming orders, maintain the customer and item database, and make settings that affect how the Customer Center works.

Both of these presentations are licensed together as part of a single Infor e-Commerce solution.

Both, B2C profile and B2B profile, are based on the same presentation, but have different application property configuration, similar to the Standalone versus M3 configurations. The Infor e-Commerce is delivered with a standard set of features for each of these profiles. However, as these features are developed as individual capabilities independent of the use, many of the features can be used in either of the configuration. If a company has both a B2C and a B2B site, Infor e-Commerce must be deployed as two applications running on the same database - with the Business Center deployed in only one of the applications. In this way, the two applications share methods, but the pipelines of the methods vary (depending on the configuration) and thereby reduce sql query complexity for features not used, such as multiple assortments.
