Inspecting and modifying application text

The Business Center includes a section called Texts. In this section, you can search the text table by page, text-item name and/or text content. You will use these settings each time you add a new language, but you may also wish to inspect, and possibly customize, each text item before going live with a project.

To inspect and/or modify texts in the application:

  1. Log on to the Business Center and click the Application Setup > Texts link in the navigator.

The Texts page is displayed. Initially, all texts in the application are shown. You may reduce the amount of texts by entering search criteria in the Filter section at the top of the page.

  2. The following criteria can be specified:
    Field Settings
Page Name In most cases, a text set is identical to an individual presentation page in the application. As an example, the page for administration of details for a currency has the text set name /bc/CurrencyDetails.jsp. You can reduce the number of pages found to Business Center pages only by specifying /bc/ as search criteria.
Text Name This is the internal page name used by the application for the text. A text name is unique only within the text set (page) that contains it.
Language You may use this field to find text specific to a language supported by your application.
Text You may use this field for free text search to find specific texts when you do not know the name of the text set (page).
  3. To edit a text, click its name in the Text Name column.

The Text Details page is displayed.

  4. Inspect the text shown in the various languages and edit them as you require, entering translations for new languages.
  5. When you are done, click Save and then Back.

You are returned to the Texts page. Continue selecting each text from the Text Name list in turn until you have inspected and edited them all.
