Configuring the Customer Center email messages

Many of the details of the messages submitted from the Customer Center are made using the Application Setup: Texts area of the Business Center by modifying the text for the MailAcknowledge.jsp page.

Note: The address to which the e-mail is delivered is controlled by the contacts configured for the current customer.

To make the text settings for the MailAcknowledge.jsp page:

  1. Log on to the Business Center as a merchant administrator.
  2. Click the Application Setup > Texts link in the navigator.
  3. In the Filter area, do the following:
    1. Enter "mail" in the Text Name field.
    2. Enter "MailAcknowledge.jsp" in the Page Name field.
    3. Click Search.

      A list of all of the page texts defined for creating the e-mail is displayed on the MailAcknowledge.jsp page. These are detailed in the table below.

      Text Name Purpose
      ccemail Specifies the word for "CC e-mail" in each language. This text appears on the HTML page and is not part of the Customer Center e-mail configuration.
      mailsubject Specifies the subject that is listed for all messages submitted from the Customer Center. For example, "Web mail from user". The customer is also able to specify a subject, but this subject is included as part of the body of the message.
      mailheading Specifies the first line of the body for all messages submitted from the Customer Center. For example, "The following mail was received from the Customer Center:".
      mailrefering Messages from the Customer Center usually include (as part of the body text) a statement that quotes the URL from which the customer sent the mail. This text is added just before the URL. For example, "Referring URL:".
      mailusersubject As mentioned above, the user is sometimes able to specify the subject for the e-mail. This text is added just before the user’s subject. For example, "Subject".
      mailbody This is the text that is placed just before the message submitted by the user. For example, "Body:"
      mailfooter The default footer of the e-mail message is: "This mail was submitted by the user with e-mail address: <sender's e-mail address>
      ownmail Defines the statement that is shown if the user has chosen to deliver a copy of the mail to self. This text appears on the HTML page and is not part of the Customer Center e-mail configuration.
      toemail Specifies the word for "e-mail" in each language. This text appears on the HTML page and is not part of the Customer Center e-mail configuration.
  4. Click the name in the Text Name column to edit the value of that item.
  5. Save your changes when you are done.
  6. Continue working with these text items until you have finished configuring and/or translating each of them.
