Payment methods

Payment methods describe possible ways of paying. A payment method is related to a payment system; given the payment method (for example, "VISA"), there is exactly one payment system handling the payment method. A payment system may handle many payment methods.

You must set up all payment systems at design time. Invoicing is also treated as a payment method, which is predefined as part of a default Infor e-Commerce installation.

When a single payment provider handles all credit card payment, possible payment methods are:

• Invoicing

• Credit card

If you define several payment systems to handle various types of cards, you can define payment methods for each of the payment systems.

For example:

• Invoicing

• Dankort, Visa/Dankort (using payment system 1)

• Eurocard, MasterCard, Diners Club (using payment system 2)

When submitting an order, the user is asked to choose from a list of payment methods enabled for the user segment. A form appropriate for the user’s selection is then shown.
