Order verification

The Order Verification feature allows Infor e-Commerce to use the capabilities of M3 BE in terms of handling customer orders. It does so by simulating a full customer order in M3 BE and retrieving the results to be displayed by Infor e-Commerce as a forecast of how the order could possibly be fulfilled.

Complex rules such as Supply Model, Global Capable-To-Promise (CTP), discount model, and others that are configured in M3 BE are taken into consideration in forecasting the order fulfilment. Although this forecast is accurate at the time of simulation, the final results may still change depending upon the circumstances when the order was actually submitted.

The effects of Order Verification are reflected when building up the order through the order forms. This will aid the buyer in making calculated decisions during the ordering process because critical information such as prices, stock availability and delivery dates are provided.

Initially, only the order details demanded by the user will be displayed. From here, simulation can be triggered by clicking Verify Order.

After verification, the forecasted order fulfilment details (in highlighted section) are displayed after the original order details for comparison purposes. The available quantities and item prices may vary between the original order details and the verified fulfilment details with the latter being more accurate. Delivery dates and sourcing warehouses information are also available.

Alternative items can also be proposed to replace ordered items if sourcing rules in M3 BE are configured to do so. Discounts-in-kind are displayed as additional fulfilment detail rows in the order line where it applies. Furthermore, items which are sourced from multiple warehouses are indicated in multiple rows as well.

Fulfilment details can be hidden from view either individually or collectively by clicking on the corresponding toggle icons. These are also visible in the Shipping details and Order Confirmation pages.
