Administering payment systems

To get to the payment-system configuration settings:

Note: Merchants can use the Business Center to temporarily make one or more payment systems inactive.

When a payment system is inactive, the payment methods that use the payment system are no longer available on the payment page when ordering.

  1. Log on to the Business Center as a merchant administrator.
  2. Click the Application Setup > Payments link in the navigator.
  3. Click the name of the payment system you wish to configure.

You can perform the following actions when editing a payment system:

    Action Description
Enable or disable the payment system Use the Is active list to enable (Yes) or disable (No) the payment system.
Assign an agreement number Usually, you must have an account number with the payment provider. Enter this number into the Agreement Number field.
Use an external payment system If the payment system is running as a local application (which probably communicates with a provider), then set Is External to No. If the payment system must be contacted directly over the Internet, set it to Yes.
Set the capture time If payment is captured at the same time that it is authorized, then set Has Immediate Capture to Yes. If you must establish a separate system for capturing payment (for example, at delivery time), set it to No.
Set the URL for the merchant accoun If you are using an external payment system, you probably need to specify the URL for submitting authorization requests to the payment provider. Enter this into the URL Merchant Account field.
Set the URL to load when authorization succeeds Many payment systems require that you include with each authorization request the URL to which to send the response when the authorization succeeds. Enter this into the URL Valid field.
Set the URL to load when authorization fails Many payment systems require that you include with each authorization request the URL to which to send the response when the authorization fails. Enter this into the URL Invalid field.
