Establishing price groups
Price groups allow merchants to establish different types of reseller agreements. Typically, the merchant will offer an incremental scheme where, for example, highest-volume resellers get the best prices, casual resellers get standard net prices and consumers see only list prices. However, many other factors may affect the prices set in each group and any number of groups can be defined.
Because prices in each group are assigned explicitly for each item, rather than applying a common computed discount based on list prices, the merchant has complete flexibility in determining the pricing scheme. However, the more price groups you have, the more manual maintenance you need because you must enter prices in each group each time you add new items or update your prices.
In the M3 setup, price groups are replicated from M3. For information about the replicated price groups, see "Effects of Interfacing" in Infor e-Commerce M3 Connector's Guide
Each price group is configured simply with a name. Once you add a new group, new fields for entering prices in that group will automatically appear on all Items Details and pricing pages.
To add or edit price groups:
Price groups and markets
For each market defined in Infor e-Commerce, there are two price groups:
-
List price – This price group contains the standard market prices for Infor e-Commerce items. In the Customer Center, the Item Details page shows this price as "Market Price".
-
Net price – This price group contains the actual price a user has to pay for the purchase made. In the Customer Center, the Item Details page shows this price as "You pay".
If an item does not have a net price defined, the user is charged the list price for that item.
