What is the XML Gateway?

The XML Gateway provides an XML interface for accessing the Infor e-Commerce application. Customers interact with the Gateway by submitting XML request documents and receiving XML response documents back. The Gateway provides a flexible and convenient channel to interface Infor e-Commerce with other automated systems being used by customers and/or the merchant.

The gateway can validate and transform incoming XML documents based on the TCP/IP port on which the XML document arrives. This enables the gateway to handle XML requests as they arrive from various customers. To use these features, your application developers for Infor e-Commerce must create the required XML style sheets and schemas and install these on your server. You must then tell customers which TCP/IP port to use when submitting their requests.

This chapter describes the run-time administration settings related to giving specific users access to the various methods available to the Gateway. See the Infor e-Commerce Development Studio User’s Guide for more information about deploying Infor e-Commerce. Specific details about design-time and deployment considerations related to the gateway are given in the Infor e-Commerce Developer’s Guide.
