Using the Link Manager

Infor Smart Office provides a tool for managing document links from application forms, called the Link Manager. You can create links to documents and images from M3 BE forms.

Note: The Link Manager is intended to manage links created in Infor Smart Office. Links created in Workplace can be executed in MForms, but they cannot be edited in the Link Manager. For more information on links in Workplace, see the M3 Workplace Administration Guide.

You launch the Link Manager from an M3 or S3 form. From the Tools menu, choose Link Manager. The links you create can be specific to you, or shared, which means that all users can use them.

Two types of links can be created:

  • You can create a link from a object in a form to a URL on your corporate intranet or the Internet. This type of link does not require IDM.

  • You can also create links from M3 objects to documents stored in IDM. The links use data that you provide to search IDM for objects that match your criteria. You can set up a link to find multiple documents of multiple types.
