Administering payment methods

The merchant can neither add new payment methods nor delete any existing payment methods; the set of available payment methods is established at design time. However, several configuration settings are available for each payment method used in a given solution.

To access the payment methods:

Note: If no user segments are assigned to a payment method, then that method is not available to anyone (effectively disabled).

Merchants cannot directly assign payment methods to individual users in a company, or individual shoppers; only user segments can be specified. However, merchants can effectively assign payment methods to an individual user or shopper by establishing a user segment with only one possible member.

  1. Log on to the Business Center as a merchant administrator.
  2. Click the Application Setup:Payments link in the navigator.
  3. Click the name of the payment method you wish to configure.

    The merchant can perform the following actions when editing a payment method:

    Action Description
    Set the position of the payment method in the list displayed to users Enter an integer in the Sort Order field.
    Select the payment system used by a method Use the Payment System list.
    Assign the name of the payment method in each language Use the fields in the Texts area.
    Add user segments that can access each payment method Use the fields in the Add New User Segment area. To add a new segment, select it from the User Segment list and click Save.
    Remove user segments that can access each payment method To remove a segment, click the "X" icon corresponding to the segment you wish to remove
