Configuring the product

One of the foremost activities within the quotation cycle is to configure the equipment with the attributes that determine what the final equipment looks like. To complete this process, you can use the Configurator feature.

Note: When you reconfigure the equipment, existing information such as promotions is not recalculated automatically.
  1. In the Equipment Quotation Detail window, select Quotation, then, on the Product tab, click the Configure button. Alternatively, in the Equipment Search and Connect window, click the Configuration button.

An overview of the configured equipment, including its sales price and cost price, is displayed.

  2. Specify the various attributes required by the customer.

The options and default values are predetermined by the product setup. When you select attributes, the sales price and the cost price are updated accordingly.

Note: The cost price is displayed only if the user settings are configured accordingly.

    These lists are displayed:

    • The list of attribute display groups
    • The list of attributes connected to the selected display group
  3. To select the columns to display, right-click in the attribute section.
  4. If an attribute is selected in the list, you can expand, select, and edit its content.
    1. In the list of string attributes, you can select a value. To remove an earlier selection without specifying another value, select the attribute to expand the list and click Delete.
Note: If the Configurator feature is not started from an editable quotation, then the View mode is run. The Text view is displayed in the lower left-hand corner and actual attribute values are displayed. These attributes cannot be changed.

When an attribute value is changed, it is validated and all conflicts such as defined dependencies between attributes and values are indicated with a yellow warning sign.

Note: The conflict is indicated for the attribute defined as a result attribute in a dependency relation.

Text attached to an attribute is defined with the i icon.

  5. To open an attachment, select the i icon.
  6. To save the configuration, click Save.
Note: Before saving the configuration, to return to the start point or the latest saved point, click Revert.
