Non-item attributes

Attributes that do not directly affect the price and cost of the equipment can also be connected in 'Attribute Model. Connect Attributes' (ATS051). The Item attribute check box in 'Attribute. Open' (ATS010) is not used to specify this type of attribute. Instead, the attribute value is setup in 'Option. Open' (PDS050).

These are some examples of how non-item attributes can be used in practice:
  • Condition: Can be used as a help attribute when setting up dependencies between attributes in 'Attribute-Dependent Objects. Open' (ATS040). For example, condition ‘Minimum 1000 Hp’ can be used in a rule (dependency) to exclude engines that do not fulfill the condition.
  • Component: Can be used to simplify the addition of records for Warranty, Service, Maintenance Agreement, Financing, Promotion, or Miscellaneous Costs on an equipment quotation line.
A component can only be added to an equipment quotation line if the attribute value is equal to the name of the corresponding record in these programs:
  • 'Quotation. Add Warranty' (QUS113).

  • 'Quotation. Add Services' (QUS114).

  • 'Quotation. Add Maintenance Agreement' (QUS115).

  • 'Quotation. Add Financing' (QUS116).

  • 'Quotation. Add Promotion' (QUS117).

  • 'Quotation. Add Miscellaneous Costs' (QUS118).

A special component is used to create an additional charge for a rental or leasing agreement. This component is only applicable if a component also exists in 'Quotation. Add Financing' (QUS116). The attribute values for this component must be equal to the name of the corresponding record in 'Contract Item. Open' (SAS450).
