Server Workflows

Configure Server Workflows to run a sequence of actions on the server back end. Define actions such as importing datasets from M3, exporting datasets to M3, and performing SQL commands. These actions are run automatically as scheduled tasks. This configuration automates recurring data operations and improves efficiency.

Note: This feature is only available for Multi-tenant Cloud deployments.
  1. From the menu, select Data Administration > Server Workflows.
    The Server Workflows dialog box is displayed.
  2. In Configuration, specify this information:
    Name
    Select a configuration from the list.
  3. In the Action field, select an action from the list.

    This table shows the available actions:

    Action Description
    Import M3 Dataset Imports datasets from M3
    Export M3 Dataset Exports datasets to M3
    Run SQL Run SQL commands on the version
    Import Data lake / Data Warehouse Imports from data lake and data warehouse to a table
    Extra/Numeric/Text Key Import Run additional dataset keys and data in a scheduled server workflow to improve scheduled tasks.
    Confirm Scenario Parts
    Accept Sales Activities For Confirm Scenario Parts and Accept Sales Activities, you must complete these actions before Export Dataset.
    Attribute Import

    Configure Attribute Import before it is available in Server Workflows.

    Note: Only attributes with active version are available in Server Workflows.
    Open Version See Open Version.
    Close Version See Close Version.
    Delay Waiting Time Specify the number of hours and minutes. When the workflow runs, the action waits for the specified hours and minutes before the next workflow step continues.
    Import Dataset Queries Run a saved Import Dataset Query configuration through a Server Workflow action configured in a Scheduled Task, with support for validation, error handling, and logging.

    Note: After selecting an action, the Execute check box is automatically selected. Clear the check box if you prefer not to run the action. You can also use the arrow buttons on the right side of the grid to arrange the sequence of actions. Additional actions may be added in the future.
  4. In the Parameter field, select the applicable parameter detail from the list.
  5. Click Close.
