Calculation Execution

Select whether to extrapolate the calculated forecast.

  1. From the menu, select Data > Statistical Forecast Methods > Forecast Methods.
  2. Select a parameter and then click New or Edit.
  3. In Forecast Method Properties, select Calculation Execution and configure the these execution options:
    Execution Specification
    Future forecast extrapolation

You must specify a value in Number of periods from forecast point to extrapolate the forecast.

You must specify a value for number of periods that is equal to or greater than the number of periods with trend. Seasonality is always applied if it is specified for the Forecast method.

Note: Extrapolation occurs after the end point for the forecast calculation is calculated.
Offset Forecast calculation points are defined in Dataset Properties. You can adjust the offset of the individual forecast method in Calculation Execution.

In Algorithm fit initialization, specify the offset between the calculation initialization point and the forecast point. This offset determines when the calculation for the forecast method starts. A negative offset moves the calculation initialization point before the forecast point, while an offset greater than zero means the calculation starts after the specified forecast point.

In Forecast point, specify the length of periods for the calculation execution. These periods also define the start and end point limits within which DMP records data.

Options Round to integer -  Specify whether to round forecast values and extrapolated values to whole numbers. If required, select the check box.
  4. Click OK.
