Configuring DMP for importing and exporting datasets

  1. Select Items > Setup > Settings.
  2. On the Data tab, select Activate Import/Export to enable import and export options.
  3. For import, these options are available:
    Import from M3 Business Engine (M3 BE)
    Enable this field to acquire data from M3 Business Engine (M3 BE).
    Import from local DB
    Enable this field to acquire data from the local transfer database (M3 DMP IF.lps in the data folder).
    Import from M3 BE to active version and local DB
    Enable this field to acquire data from both the M3 Business Engine (M3 BE) and the local transfer database.
  4. For export, these options are available:
    Export to M3 Business Engine (M3 BE)
    Enable this field to export data to M3 Business Engine (M3 BE).
    Export to local DB
    Enable this field to export data to the local transfer database (M3 DMP IF.lps in the data folder).
    Export to M3 BE and local DB
    Enable this field to export data back to both the M3 Business Engine (M3 BE) and the local transfer database.
  5. To complete the settings, specify this information:
    Default Company
    Specify the default company number from which available datasets are retrieved.
    M3 Interface
    To import or export data from M3 BE, you must specify parameters for basic and advanced M3 interface settings.
  6. Click OK to complete the M3 DMP configuration for importing datasets.
  7. On Version Control/Define Version Properties/Settings tab, select the forecast method for the datasets you are importing.
    Note: You must be logged in as an administrator to access the import settings.
