About Scenario Parts
Scenario parts are used in M3 DMP to label one or more changes made by a forecaster or administrator. This concept is crucial in M3 DMP because you cannot create changes unless they are attached to a scenario part.
Scenario parts are containers for changes that you make once, and you do not retrieve them in later forecast cycles.
You must label the changes made in the pivot sheet as a scenario part and attach them to a dataset. These are the advantages of selecting one change label over the other:
- The Change dialog box provides an intuitive way to attach changes to scenarios as scenario parts.
- By default, you can have access to the Scenario Parts dialog box because it is suited for the changes that are part of the normal forecasting procedure.
- The dialog box
asks you to select the scenario for which you can:
- Attach the change
- Specify a name for your scenario part
- Select a change category for your scenario part, such as a new product
- Select a to do list item for your scenario part
- Specify a description of the changes in the scenario part
- The information
you include with a scenario part then enables the change list functionality to specify
an overview of the changes and enables you to:
- Delete a scenario part
- Confirm a scenario part
- Undo confirmation of a scenario part
- Set a new change category for a scenario part, such as new markets
- You can also access the changes directly in the pivot sheet by selecting or .
