Using Fast Filter
When a user clicks a Fast Filter, the list is populated with distinct values retrieved from the database query. These values are based on the filter conditions set in the favorite view and user rights. You can specify or select a value from a fast filter list.
An additional filter is applied based on the key selected from another Fast Filter list. If a value is changed in one Fast Filter list, all items in the other Fast Filter lists are cleared. The lists are then replaced with new items based on the updated filter.
Fast Filter also supports Unicode, enabling compatibility with Central European languages. Additionally, you can specify texts as Fast Filters.
This table shows the texts that you can use as a Fast Filter:
| Fast Filter | Result |
|---|---|
| 05 | Displays all elements that start with 05 |
| *05* | Displays all elements that contain 05 |
| *05 | Displays all elements that end with 05 |
| [ ] square brackets | Used as filter for an explicit value with inner brackets for alternative values |
Fast Filter remembers the last filter used when a favorite view is reopened. It retains the last used filter for all basic and extra keys, including selected and typed values, as well as any key groups. You can select or clear the Remember Favorite View Fast Filter check box in .
