Enabling Trend Line

By enabling the trend line in a chart, you can define the start offset and the number of periods for the trend calculation. The trend line is displayed in a color series that you specified. A marker shows the start point of the extended trend line.

To enable the trend line in a chart, ensure that Split View is enabled for your dataset.

  1. From the chart legend, click Select Measures.
  2. In the Measure column, select the measures to display in the trend line chart.
  3. Click the Trend Line check box.
  4. Specify this information:
    Offset
    Select an offset period from the list.
    Periods
    Specify a period for your trend line.
    Extend
    Select the check box to include an extended trend line in the chart,
  5. Optionally, select the Show Data Points check box to display the data points in your chart. You can also specify a rotation angle.
  6. Click OK.
