Enabling Statistical Forecasting

  1. Select Datasets > Properties .
The Dataset Properties dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select the Forecast tab.
  3. To enable Forecast Calculation , select the DMP Forecast Calculation check box.
  4. On the Calculation Measures tab, select the Data Type for Demand and for Calculated Forecast.
  5. Click the Calculation Time Points tab and specify this information:
Note: Each forecast method enables you to add an offset to the calculation initialization, start, and end points.
    Calculation initialization point
Specify whether to use time mark or period and select a value from the list.

The value specified in this field is used to indicate the start of the memory forecast calculation in the application.

    Calculation start point
Specify whether to use time mark or period and select a value from the list.

The value specified in this field is used to indicate the start period of the results that are recorded in the database.

    Calculation end point
Specify whether to use time mark or period and select a value from the list.

The value specified in this field is used to indicate the end period of the forecast calculation and then proceeds to the extrapolation of the forecast.

Note:  The end point is usually the first period after a valid demand data (statistics). Each forecast method defines the period extrapolated after the period specified in Calculation end point.

The Calculation start point and Calculation end point are the same point in case of a continuous forecast process. The forecast calculation for a period is generated and used for future periods depending on the number of extrapolation periods defined in the forecast method or until the end of the views model.
