M3 Triggers

The M3 Triggers feature has the ability to implement forecast to the true MDS or to an MDS version for test or simulation purposes. This feature has the same function as the M3 program FCS425. See Enabling Forecast on M3 BE.

When REST API is used, you can save M3 Trigger for use in workflows.

  1. From the menu, select Version > Export > M3 Triggers.
    The M3 BE Triggers dialog box is displayed.
  2. On Configuration, specify this information:
    Name
    Specify the name of the configuration.
    You can also browse for a configuration if it is not yet available in the drop-down.
  3. On Parameter, specify this information:
    Company
    Specify the company code.
    Division
    Specify the division.
    Dataset
    Specify the available dataset from the drop-down.
    Budget
    Optionally, specify the available budget from the drop-down.
    Data Type - Supplement
    Specify the available data type to supplement from the drop-down. This is set to Calculated forecast – sales fcst. only by default.
    Warehouse
    Specify the warehouse name.
    Update MDS
    Specify an MDS value in the field.
    MDS Version
    Specify the MDS version.
    Fixed, Time mark, or Today
    Select the applicable option from the list:
    • Fixed – Specify the specific date in From and To Period
    • Time mark – Specify the time marks in From and To Period
    • Today – Specify the offset from the date today
    From Period
    Specify the period start date or time mark.
    To Period
    Specify the period end date or time mark.
    Offset
    Specify the offset from the date today.
    Unattended
    When this check box is selected, the execution from workflow will queue the execution in M3 and complete it successfully without waiting for the job to end.
  4. On Trigger, the status of the Forecast Implementation is displayed.
    Action
    Set to Forecast Implementation.
    Status
    The status of the action is displayed in this field.
    Job Number
    The M3 job number is displayed in this field.
    Start Time
    The time when the trigger started is displayed in this field.
    Run Time
    The total run time of trigger is displayed in this field.
  5. Click Execute.
  6. Click Close.
    Note: To run the M3 Trigger using replace and supplement, select Menu > Setup > Settings > Logging > Special Setting and then set the TriggerForImpl value to 1.
