Creating a phantom with copied value

  1. Select Datasets > Phantoms.
  2. On Phantom Manager, organize the column headings in the pivot sheet to represent the required column structure to copy.
  3. Right-click the selected entities and select Create Phantoms Structure.
  4. On Create Phantoms Structure, select the budgets and click OK.
The data populated based on your selection is displayed. The new phantoms are marked with status Not Valid. The Not Valid status is assigned tentatively because the phantoms are empty copies of the actual records. Therefore, it must be changed before becoming unique records.
  5. To change the status from Not Valid to New, you must rename any or all key values.
Select the values to modify and click the ellipsis icon to browse and select the new key values. You can select from the list of available key values or specify your own. If you specify your own, it appears on the list once the change is implemented.
  6. To specify the period of time for the data to be copied, specify the dataset range in the From Time Horizon and To Time Horizon list.
Apart from the preset time range, you can set your own time range in weeks, with the help of the additional list.
  7. To specify which data types to copy, select the check boxes in Data Types.
  8. Click Update.
Note: You must update the phantom for every change you make to key values. You may encounter a Budget Version is Not Valid warning, which indicates that the selected phantom is assigned a budget of N/A. This is a temporary status and must be changed before the phantom is marked with status New. If your update fails, the old status is preserved.
  9. Click OK.
The phantoms marked with the status New are displayed in the pivot sheet the next time it is opened. The phantoms marked with status Not Valid cause a warning and can be ignored. Once the panel is closed, it disappears.
