Controlling a dataset record using key state
These steps explain the process of
controlling a dataset record using key states.
- On the pivot sheet, select the records that requires a change in key states.
- Select the records to change the key states using the Change Key State feature. See Change Key State.
- Specify the changes on the marked records by creating scenario parts or sales activities. See Create Scenario Part/Sales Activities.
- Export the changes. See Export Data to M3 BE.
- Import the same dataset using the Partial Import option. See Import Data from M3 BE.
-
On Favorite View Properties, select the key values of the
dataset.
The Key State list displays all the available key states. See About Key State.
-
Select a key state from the Key State
list to check if the key state of a marked record has changed after partial import.
For example, if a record has been marked New before and after the partial import, that key state is changed to Normal. If you select Normal from the Key State list and load the pivot sheet, the record with the Normal key state is displayed in the pivot sheet.
This table shows the change in key states of records before and after the partial import:
Key state before partial import Key state after partial import New Normal To Be Deleted Deleted 1 Deleted 1 Deleted 2 Deleted 2 Deleted 3 Deleted 3 Final Deleted New A-Items A-Items New B-Items B-Items New C-Items C-Items New D-Items D-Items
