Create Market Forecast Proposal

In this part of the process flow, the forecasters are making updates to their forecast using their up-to-date knowledge on market intelligence.

1. Open M3 DMP and login as a Forecaster.
2. Import data from M3 BE or local DB.
   1. Select Actions > Data Exchange > Get Server Contents. The Version Control is populated with updated information on available forecast packages that you can select and download. All available packages are displayed in the Version Control with an online icon in the Location column.
   2. Select the online Version for which packages have been created and select Receive Forecast Package in the Data Exchange menu. If all download information has been defined correctly for the corresponding Server Version, the package is automatically downloaded and installed into the forecasters Version Control. M3 DMP switches automatically to the downloaded package and makes it the active version. See Import Data from M3 BE.
3. Select To-Do list from the Lists menu. The list of tasks assigned to forecaster is displayed in the Workbench.
4. Open a Favorite View.

   The status of the online package is Open. The Dataset in the package is displayed in the Navigation menu. For online users, the Favorite View created by the administrator is displayed in the Favorite View panel. You can group and ungroup data in by dragging columns into or out of the aggregation area. When grouping data, a sum row is created for every distinct value of the grouped key. Sums are calculated for these rows and can form the basis for middle-out calculations in a Favorite View. Make some changes – both on aggregated levels and on detailed levels in order to describe the concept of top-down, middle-out and bottom-up modifications of the forecast. 5. Select the assigned tasks in the To-Do list as completed in the To- Do List. All completed markings are uploaded to the M3 DMP Server. See Complete To Do List Item.
6. Send changes to M3 Demand Planner Server.

   When the forecast updates are completed by a Forecaster, all the suggested changes is uploaded to the M3 DMP Server. This is done by selecting Send Forecast Information in the Data Exchange menu.

   These information are updated on the M3 DMP Server:

   • Scenarios and scenario parts (with changes)
   • Status on To-Do activities if they are marked as completed
   • Updates for the Sales Activities list.

   Only the changes are updated. The unchanged data is not communicated between the Client and the Server. See View Change Properties.

7. Click Exit.
