Enabling the trend line

By enabling the trend line in a chart, you can define the start offset and the number of periods for the trend calculation. The trend line is displayed in a color series that you specified. A marker shows the start point of the extended trend line.

To enable the trend line in a chart, ensure that Split View is enabled for your dataset.

  1. From the chart legend, select the Select Measures button.
  2. In the Measure list, select the measures that will show in the trend line chart.
  3. Select the Trend Line check box.
  4. Specify this information:
    Offset
    Select an offset period from the list.
    Periods
    Specify a period for your trend line.
  5. If you want to include an extended trend line in the chart, select the Extend check box.
  6. Optionally, select the Show Data Points check box to display the data points in your chart. Specify a rotation angle.
  7. Click OK.
