Phase out

The Phase out functionality allows you to remove the record from M3 Demand Planner, to phase the record in again by assigning a Normal or a user-defined key state, or to change the key state to delete completely. You can undo this functionality to facilitate the reintroduction of the product as easily as it is phased out. For example, you can remove seasonally defined product when out of season and reintroduce it when appropriate.

Note:  The functionality requires administrator status and is administered using the Phase out option in Change Key State dialog box.  To remove a record permanently, it must also be removed from the M3 BE Dataset or else it will reappear in M3 Demand Planner as a new record.

Once you have completed the phase out process, the marked records are colored. The next time you open the view, the records are hidden. It is important to note that the phased out records are filtered out from views, reports, filter dialog boxes and phantoms. Furthermore, phased out records are not included when exporting data to M3 BE.

Select Datasets > Phase out to open a specific grid that shows only the records that are currently phased out. M3 DMP will look for a specific favorite view to display the phased out records, but if it is not defined then a default view is displayed. You can enable the default view option Open Phase out view in Sales Budgeting mode in Menu > Setup > Settings > General. This is used when a specific view is not defined.

You can also use Fast Filtering in the Phase out pivot sheet. You must ensure that Fast Filtering on Pivot Sheet is enabled in Menu > Setup > Settings > General.

In the Phase out grid, the rows can be deleted permanently using the red X button. Typically, the Phase out grid is read only, but you can create Phantom structures. In this case, you must specify the Key state.

The Normal option in the Change Key State dialog box helps to undo the Phase out or deletion process. See Undo Phase Out of Records. The next time the Dataset is opened the records are viewable in the Dataset and becomes part of views, reports, filter dialog boxes, phantoms, and exports to M3 BE.

Create a customized view for Phase out.

Provide the favorite view the same name as the Dataset and the Category Phase out. Select Dataset > Phase out, this view will then open.

Note: A similar option also exists in List > Changes > View Scenario Parts. M3 DMP will look for a Favorite view with the name of the Dataset and the category Changes.
