Competitive Methods Properties

You can use the Competitive Method Properties to configure a competitive method and decide which forecast methods will compete. The winning method is determined by selecting the method with the lowest error defined by the Error Analysis.

Note: This feature can calculate many forecast methods but can also take longer time to perform the calculation. The competitive method is not a substitution for making informed decisions about how to best forecast. You can use this feature to assist and guide selection of a Forecast Method or be used to continually perform automatic selection between some forecast methods. The winner will change based on the historical data when the Error Analysis finds a better forecast method with lower error.

The dialog box is available through Menu > Data > Statistical Forecast Methods. Select Competitive and click New or Edit.
