Defining API M3 Interface Settings

  1. Select Menu > Setup > Settings.
  2. Select the Data tab and click M3 Interface.
    Note: Ensure that the Activate Import/Export check box is selected.
  3. Click the API tab.
  4. Specify this information:
    Parameters
    Specify a name for the parameter file. In standard configuration, the default value is ParamDmp.ini.
    User ID
    Specify you M3 BE login user ID.
    Password
    Specify your M3 BE login password.
    M3 Server settings
    Specify the IP address and Port to establish connection to M3 BE.
    Importing and Exporting Data to M3 BE
    Select the applicable options from the list. In default configuration, Activate M3 Trigger, Import Promotions, and Export Promotions are selected.
  5. Click Advanced.
    The M3 Interface Settings - Advanced dialog box is displayed.
  6. Specify this information:
    Computer name
    Specify a computer name or use the default name in the field.
    General
    Max Record
    Specify the maximum number of records that you can receive from a command in the application. To receive all data records, specify 0.
    Convert text
    Select this check box to enable converting of data from ASCII to OEM.
    Library
    Specify the values in Default Library, Program, and Library. You can use the Insert, Change, or Delete buttons to modify the Library details.
    Offset
    Specify the values in Structure and Length.
  7. Click Test to verify the connection to M3.
    The MI API Test dialog box is displayed containing all the details for M3 connection. If the connection to M3 failed, a warning message is displayed.
  8. Click OK to close the dialog box or select another tab to continue.
