Purchase Manager Workspace

A purchase manager specializes in supplier relationship management. This role uses effective negotiation to source high quality products and services at a price which is reasonable to both the organization and the suppliers. A purchase manager also sets the standards for team ethics, transparency and drives the organization's sustainability goals. The goal is to contribute success by efficiently managing the supply chain and supporting its growth and profitability.

The Purchase Manager Workspace contains these widgets:
Widget Description
My Day Displays the current date, greeting message, and the user's icon and first name.
Top Suppliers Presents the top suppliers with the most number of purchase orders specific to a preconfigured period, for example past 180 days from the current date, which can be changed when you amend the search query by navigating to More (…) > Change Input. When you click a bar line, the widget shows the supplier’s ID and purchase order count. Additionally, when you right-click the widget and select Open, the widget performs a drillback to 'Purchase Order. Open' (PPS200).

PO Monitor Presents the total count of purchase orders and the respective top 5 buyers specific to a preconfigured period, for example, past 180 days to current date, which can be changed when you amend the search query by navigating to More (…) > Change Input. When you right-click a buyer and select Open on the pie chart, the widget performs a drillback to 'Purchase Order. Open' (PPS200).

On Your Radar Focuses on managing priority tasks. The widget comprises of these tasks that you can address:
  • Delayed order lines: Shows all purchase order lines for a period, for example past 7 days to current date, and that are past the target delivery date. When you click this tile, the widget performs a drillback to 'Purchase Order. Display Lines' (PPS220).
  • PO approvals: Shows purchase orders that are set with status '12=Order stopped' and with dates that are set to the previous 7 days from the current date or 7 days later. When you click this tile, the widget performs a drillback to 'Purchase Order. Open' (PPS200).
  • New suppliers: Shows new suppliers who are tagged with status '10-Preliminary'. When you click this tile, the widget performs a drillback to 'Customer. Open' (CRS610).
  • Stopped suppliers: Shows all suppliers who are tagged with status 30 - Stopped. When you click this tile, the widget performs a drillback to 'Customer. Open' (CRS610).

Quick Actions Shows the tasks that a purchase manager performs frequently.
For this workspace, this widget shows these default tasks:
  • Create Planned Purchase Order: Retrieves information, such as, item number, item name,supplier number, warehouse, order type, date, quantity, price, and UOM and enables you to create planned purchase orders. After creating the PO, a message is displayed with the purchase order ID which you can click to perform a drillback to 'Purchase Requisition. Open' (PPS180).
  • Release Planned Purchase Order: Shows a list of planned purchase orders where you can filter any specific buyer. Upon clicking the release option, a planned PO is released and the actual purchase order is created.
  • Update Supplier Information: Shows a list of suppliers where you can update supplier details. After updating and saving the record, a message is displayed with the supplier ID which you can click to perform a drillback to 'Customer. Open' (CRS610).
Important Links Provides direct access to preconfigured programs in the Infor M3 application. This widget shows default links that drill back to Infor M3 where to view details about purchase agreements, reports,suppliers, and purchase orders.

Programs and sorting orders used in the workspace

The drillback functionality in some of the workspace widgets require specific configuration for filtering the correct data in Infor M3. When you perform a drillback to any program, check for the Function Search query. If the Function Search is disabled, you must create a record by specifying a combination of program, sorting order, and table for the search on 'Standard Search. Open' (CMS021/B).
