Follow this widget configuration to use basic API transactions for creating data.

  1. Click Configure Widget.
  2. Specify this information:
    Title
Click the unlock button and specify a widget title.
  3. Configure the M3 API:
    Program
Click the look-up button in this required field. You can search for M3 programs, for example CRS610, and provide a description to filter the results. Click a record from the programs list and click Select.
    Add Transaction
Click the look-up button in this required field. You can search for a transaction, for example AddTool, and provide a description to filter the results. Click a record from the transactions list and click Select.
    Input Fields

Click the look-up button in this required field.

On the data grid, you can perform these tasks:
    • Select Input to identify input fields to be submitted to the API transaction.
    • Select Hidden to hide input fields to be submitted to the API transaction. A hidden field can hold a suggested Value which can only be viewed through an API request.
Note: The hidden functionality only works if Input is selected.
    • Change an input field's value in the Value column.
    • Add an entity in the Value field to indicate the type of context message to be retrieved for a particular record. The value usually follows this format: {<entity>}, for example, {InforCustomerPartyMaster}. If multiple messages are required, you only have to append .id<ID number> for the declared entity, for example, {InforCustomerPartyMaster.id2}.
    • Optionally, configure a browse field. See Configuring a browse field.
    • Use the View Order column to sort the order of the fields as displayed on the widget. Fields with lower view order are placed first on the top of the widget. For example, if the input fields are set with these values, CUNO=100, CUNM=10, and STAT=50, the widget displays the fields from top to bottom starting from CUNM, STAT and then CUNO.
    • Change the display labels of input fields through the Modify Description functionality. You can also specify a translation for the new label. For the translated label to reflect, you must set the equivalent language in the user settings of Infor OS.
  4. Click Save.
