Personalizations

Personalizations are changes that can be made to tailor the user experience through menu configuration and hiding of data elements. Personalizations are also changes that users can make to screens for themselves, including column sequencing and visibility. On-site administrators can choose to give users the ability to use the tools that make personalization possible.

This section describes personalizations that can be made with the extensibility tools delivered with, or available as options, to this CloudSuite.

Personalizations are available in these tools:

  • Infor Smart Office

  • Infor H5 Enterprise

  • Infor Mashup Designer

Infor Smart Office

Infor Smart Office provides a large number of tools to assist users in personalizing their user experience.

On-site administrators can choose which personalization options to make available to end-users.

Options available for end-user personalization include:

  • Widgets: Iconized objects that users can place on the Infor Smart Office canvas for quick access, including tools (clock, calculator, notepad) links to data, reports, tools, or forms.

One of the delivered widgets is the Navigator, a widget for organizing other widgets.

  • Canvas shortcut: A link that opens a commonly used form or report directly from the canvas.

  • Startpad: A link to a group of shortcuts to applications and is accessible through the canvas tool, the Navigator.

  • Look and feel of forms. Among the changes users can make are:

    • Changing styles, including color schemes and fonts

    • Renaming field labels

    • Changing column labels and widths of columns

    • Removing fields and columns that are not needed for their tasks from their view of forms

    • Making fields required (or not required)

    • Changing default field values

    • Changing tab order (the order that a user moves through a form using the tab key)

Personalizations are menu-driven and easy for users to make.

Infor Smart Office offers a feature called conditional styles which allows personalizations to be presented only on a condition that is specified by a user. For example, to make sure a user notes an upcoming due date, he or she can specify a date range during which time a field would be presented in boldface red.

On-site administrators can restrict access to each available type of personalization for individual users or roles.

H5 Enterprise

H5 Enterprise provides a large number of tools to assist users in personalizing their user experience. On-site administrators can choose which personalization options to make available to end-users. Options available for end-user personalization include:

UI Scripting

Both Infor Smart Office and H5 Enterprise support scripting within functions. Scripts contain small functions that run when a specific event occurs. A script can, for example, add a button to a form and when the button is pressed a specific function in the script can alter information shown on the screen. Smart Office supports scripts written in Jscript, while H5 Enterprise supports scripts written in JAVA script. Scripts are applied in the same way as personalizations. An on-site administrator can authorize specific users to add scripts, and also define whether the scripts will be applied to the whole system, certain roles, or specific users.

Infor Smart Office SDK

Infor Smart Office SDK lets a developer create programs that run within Smart Office with full access to Infor Smart Office public APIs.

Web Mashup SDK

Web Mashup SDK lets a developer create web based programs with access to M3 APIs to work together with H5 Enterprise.

Mashup Designer

With Infor Mashup Designer, it is possible to create role based composite interfaces.
