Updating an entity in a repository
Before you can start any work in M3 Adaptation Kit, you must perform an update task to ensure that your MAK navigator is updated with the latest repository entries. The update must be performed on the MAK project root. You must also perform an SVN Update before updating an entity.
These actions can trigger an automatic update operation that runs in the background:
-
Creating a new entity
-
Locking an entity in the MAK Navigator tab
-
Getting an entity that is already in the SVN repository, but has not yet been synchronized into the local project
The update retrieves the latest repository entries and your working copy will be updated with the latest version of the resource available in the repository. When you update, the repository contents are not changed. When you accept incoming changes, these changes are applied only to your working copy. The repository is changed only when you commit your outgoing changes.
