M3 Troubleshooting

Error Message Reason Recovery
Failed to establish M3 session. The MWS Server was unable to connect to the M3 Application. Check the configuration on the server. It must have the correct host and port settings
No response from M3 Server The M3 Application server could not be contacted

1. Check the M3 application is available.

2. Check the configuration to ensure the host and port entries are correct

The M3 server returned error message '{0}', code: {1} This is a validation error provided by the M3 application, it could be due to an invalid entry or missing required field in the web service. Take the appropriate action to correct the error described in the message
Failed to retrieve user view path from the M3 server The view path in the configuration was not available. This could be due to an invalid path, or a network issue.

1. Check the configuration for an invalid viewpath and correct as necessary

2. Check the network connections are available

M3 server username and/or password not set The user and/or password were not set in the web service call Ensure that the user and password are passed to the web service.
Failed to set user company and division The user and/or password supplied were not correct for the M3 application Enter the correct user and password for the M3 application
Failed to connect to the M3 server, unknown host '{0}' The company and division change failed. This could be due to an invalid company and/or division, or a lack of authority for the user executing the web service.

1. Check that the company and/or division is correct in M3

2. Check that the user has sufficient authority in M3 for the company/division

Failed to connect to the M3 server '{0}', examine log files for details The host in the configuration does not appear to be an M3 application host. It could be invalid entries in the configuration Check the configuration on the server. It must have the correct host and port settings
Communication failure during a request to the M3 server '{0}' The M3 server could not be contacted for some reason. Check the MWS server log for further information
Failed to logon to the M3 server, reason: {0} The logon to the M3 application failed. It could be for one of a number of reasons such as an expired password or invalid user id. The message should give more details Ensure that the user/password used to logon to M3 is valid
The M3 server returned error message '{0}' This is a normal error message returned by the M3 application. Check the message for further information Check that required inputs are supplied as necessary.
