Viewing table fields used

Before you start, you must complete a program search task. See Viewing panels of a program.

  1. On the Search Results tab, select a Panel name.
  2. Click on the column View Table Fields Used to show all the table fields used.

A new search result opens with this information:

    Column heading Description
Table Fields Used (Column name) Name of the fields used by your selected panel.
Description Field description of your selected panel.
    Parent table

Parent table name of the field.

Click on this option to view the parent table relations.

Note: These results are generated from the program's view definition file.

The value of the fieldHelp entry for each program panel in the view definition file is compared to the table columns of tables used by the program.

The search result displays only the table columns matching the fieldHelp entries for program panels in the view definition file.

The System Tables (CSY*), table columns CONO (Company), and DIVI (Division) are not included in the results since most programs use these tables and columns.

  3. Use these options to manage the results:
    • To sort the results alphabetically or numerically, click the Sort icon located in one or more column headings.

    • To filter the results, type a dynamic free text filter for each column and select a Filter action.

  4. To view table relations, click a Parent Table name.
