Editing a field

Use this procedure to edit a field in the data structure.

  1. In the Fields pane, select a field that you want to edit. The Field Details pane is displayed.
  2. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify a new field name to be used in the data structure.
    Type

    Select the type of the field data. These types are possible:

    • String

    • Decimal

    Length
    Specify a new value for the length of the field in number of characters.
    Decimals
    Specify the number of decimals allowed. This field is enabled only for type decimal.
  3. Click the Fields pane area to update the list.
  4. Press CTRL+S to save the changes.
  5. For Datastructures which MI type is still unknown, if you changed the length value of the field to 1 in step 2, a window is displayed, prompting you to save the string as MI.

    • When you click OK, the data structure is saved as MI (MvxString, 1).

    • When you click Cancel, the data structure is saved as standard (char, 1).
