Setting a temporary folder to store definitions

When you modify a Flat File definition that is stored in the Flat File Repository folder, it will create a temporary file folder on the local disk.

Use this procedure instead of manually modifying the FlatFileGuiIni.xml file. The xml file is now encrypted and is not available for direct edits.

When you modify the FlatfileGuiIni.xml file, the default value for the UnderEditFolder setting is the path to the user profile that is currently logged on in Windows.

  1. Launch Flat File Repository Manager.

The Flat File Definition Tool Security Login window is displayed.

  2. Specify your user name and password.
  3. Click OK.

The Flat File Repository Manager window is displayed.

  4. Move to Local Definitions pane. Right-click and select Add Folder.
  5. Browse to an existing folder.

Optionally, you can select to create a new folder.

If FFD tool has multiple users, point to a folder that is accessible to all users.

  6. Click OK.
  7. Close and exit the tool.
