Upgrading to a new M3 Core release

  1. Change the LifeCycle Manager Server JVM according to instructions in the chapter General Tasks for Java in the LifeCycle Manager Administration Guide.
  2. Upgrade LifeCycle Manager according to the instructions in Admin tasks for LifeCycle Manager.
  3. Change the LifeCycle Manager Service JVM according to instructions in the chapter General Tasks for Java in the LifeCycle Manager Administration Guide.
  4. Attach the new Java version to LCM according to instructions in the chapter General Tasks for Java in the LifeCycle Manager Administration Guide.
  5. Upload M3 Core to LifeCycle Manager and retrieve available fixes according to the instructions in the chapter Upload M3 Core to LifeCycle Manager in the M3 Core Installation Guide.
  6. Verify the https URL for M3 User Documentation Infocenter according to the instructions in the chapter Verify M3 Documentation URLs in the M3 Core Installation Guide.
  7. Upgrade Infor ION Grid according to instructions in Admin tasks for Infor ION Grid.
  8. Update your Grid Hosts to run with the new Java version. Run the task Reconfigure Host and update the service jdks.

    Note that if you override at the host, application, or node level these must be changed as well.

  9. Complete the upgrade steps for the remaining M3 Core products according to the instructions in the Admin tasks chapters for the respective product.
  10. Upgrade the M3 Business Engine Environment to the new release of M3 Business Engine. For more information, see chapter Install feature packs in the M3 Core Installation Guide.
  11. Uninstall M3 Companion according to the instructions in Uninstalling Infor Companion.
