Applying a feature pack

Ensure that feature pack packages have already been uploaded to the LifeCycle Manager Server before they can be applied to the environment. See Uploading an M3 Business Engine package.

Use this procedure to apply a feature pack to any environment.
Note: The appropriate View definitions, language files, help files, and OUT layouts are installed at the same time.
  1. If applicable, read the feature pack information (FPInfo) delivered with the feature pack for specific installation instructions.
  2. Right-click your environment and select Fixes > Apply Feature Pack.
  3. Select the feature pack version for standard M3 BE to upgrade your environment.

    Verify the current version.

    All feature pack versions for standard M3 Business Engine that are uploaded to the LifeCycle Manager Server are displayed here.

    Markets that will be upgraded

    Displays a list of all market components configured in a system configuration in your environment. All available markets in this list will be upgraded.

    Markets that can not be upgraded

    All markets that are installed and configured on this environment and do not have a corresponding feature pack version uploaded to the LifeCycle Manager Server are displayed here.

    Note: You must always install the same feature pack version for both standard M3 Business Engine and all installed markets at the same time.
  4. Click Next.
  5. A list of the installed standard or market modification fixes that are in conflict with the feature pack is displayed. Select to remove all these conflicting files.
  6. Click Next.
  7. A list of the installed standard or market modification fixes that do not conflict with the feature pack is displayed. These files might be affected by the files to be installed. Select the files to be removed by selecting the check box in front of the file name.
  8. Click Next.
  9. A list of the installed customer modifications on this environment is displayed. These files might be affected by the files to be installed. Select the files to be removed by selecting the check box in front of the file name.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Select if you want to save the information provided in the previous steps and information about all MCEs that will be removed to a spread sheet.
  12. On the Summary Window, verify the property values and click Finish.
  13. When the task is finished, a window is displayed. Click OK or click View log. You can also go to the Logs tab to view the log file.
