Updating a Java link
Use this procedure to change an existing Java middleware link to a newer update version of your Java installation. When installing a LifeCycle Manager Service, a Java middleware is attached, and a link to your java installation path is created. A link is also created when you attach a new version.
For example, if you installed the service with a JDK in E:\jdk1.7.0_u45_32bit
, then a link named java1.7.0_32bit
is created in the service installation path as well as a java node named Java 1.7.0 32-bit
is attached in the LCM Client. If you want to use a different update version of Java 1.7 instead, you can use this task to modify the link to point out the preferred version.
Ensure that a correct JVM version is installed on your platform. See information about system requirements in M3 Core Installation Planning Guide.
