Updating a LifeCycle Manager Service name
Use this procedure to update the name of a LifeCycle Manager Service.
- Log on to the LifeCycle Manager Client as administrator.
- Right-click the LifeCycle Manager Service that you want to rename.

Select Host > Change Name. The Change Name window is displayed with the current
name of the LifeCycle Manager Service.
Note: You can also update the service name by clicking the task Change Name on the Dashboard.
- Specify the new name of the LifeCycle Manager Service.
- Click Next.
- Verify the property values and click Finish.
- Log on to the server hosting the LifeCycle Manager Service as local administrator.

Stop the LifeCycle Manager Service by performing one of these actions depending on the
applicable platform:
Platform Action Windows Stop the Windows service. IBM I Stop the subsystem. Unix Run the command stoplcmas the user lcm. -
Perform one of these actions depending on the applicable platform where LifeCycle
Manager Service is running:
Platform Action Windows Run the script renameWindowsService.cmdfound in the service folder of the LifeCycle Manager Service installation path.IBM I Run the script renameLcmService.qshfound in the service folder of the LifeCycle Manager Service installation path.Unix Run the script renameLcmServicefound in the service folder of the LifeCycle Manager Service installation path. - Log on to the LifeCycle Manager Client.
- Verify that you have a connection to the LifeCycle Manager Service.
